Privacy & Cookie Policy
Last updated: September 2026
This policy explains how My Live Count ("we", "us") handles information when you use our real-time live subscriber count and social counter website (the "Service").
1. Information we collect
You can use My Live Count without creating an account. We do not ask for your name, email or password to view counts. We may process:
- Search queries — the channel names or links you look up, used to power features like "trending" and "recently searched".
- Basic technical data — anonymised request information such as approximate country and device type, used for aggregate analytics and to keep the Service secure.
- Contact form details — if you write to us, we keep your message and the email address you provide so we can reply.
2. Public platform data
Subscriber, view and video figures shown on our counters are retrieved from official platform APIs (such as the YouTube Data API) and are already public. We do not collect private information about any channel or its owner, and we display a count as hidden when its owner hides it.
3. Cookies & similar technologies
We use a small number of cookies and browser-storage entries:
- Essential — a session cookie that keeps basic site functions working (for example form security). It contains no personal profile.
- Preferences — your light/dark theme choice and dismissed notices, stored in your browser's local storage.
- Analytics — we use Google Analytics to understand aggregate usage (pages visited, approximate location, device type). Google Analytics sets its own cookies. Learn how Google processes this data at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
- Advertising — see section 4 below.
You can delete or block cookies at any time in your browser settings; the core counters work without them.
4. Advertising (Google AdSense)
We display advertisements served by Google AdSense to keep the Service free. In connection with advertising:
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies (such as the DoubleClick cookie) to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to show you relevant ads. You can opt out of personalised advertising at Google Ads Settings, and opt out of many other vendors' cookies at aboutads.info/choices.
- Where required by law (for example in the EEA, UK and Switzerland), a consent message is shown before personalised advertising cookies are used, and non-personalised ads may be served instead if you decline.
- Sponsored links and promotions on the site are marked with appropriate link attributes; advertising never changes the numbers our counters display.
5. How we use information
We use the limited data above to operate, maintain and improve the Service, prevent abuse, measure aggregate usage, and serve and measure advertising as described in section 4. We do not sell your personal information.
6. Data retention
Search logs and aggregate analytics are kept only as long as needed to provide the features described above and may be deleted or anonymised periodically. Contact messages are kept for as long as needed to handle your enquiry.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal data we hold about you (such as a contact-form message). Write to us via the contact page and we will help.
8. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
9. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time; the date above always reflects the current version. Continued use of the Service after changes means you accept the revised policy.
